Kumar Sachin Dev Burman needs no introduction. This legendary musician is revered by millions of music lovers all over the world. The year 2006 marks his birth centenary. Popularly known as SD Burman or Dada Burman to his fans and admirers, this composer is an enigma that refuses to either fade or wither away even hundred years after he was born. He lives on through his seminal work for some of the greatest classics of Indian Cinema like 'Guide' , 'Bandini', 'Pyaasa', 'Jewel Thief' and 'Abhimaan'. He also lives on through his pioneering work as a folk and light classical singer in Bengal.

To commemorate this once-in-a-century talent, the website has joined hands with the media consultancy Media & Edit Solutions to flag off the year long centenary celebrations for the maestro. This exclusive evening titled Aaj Phir Jeene Ki Tamanna Hai is dedicated to celebrate the eternal joi-de-vivre and versatility in Sachinda's work. Through audio/visual tributes, musical performances and personal reminiscences, we. will pay obeisance to some of the most soulful, lilting and inimitable melodies ever created and also to the equally inimitable man behind those melodies.

This souvenir is being released on the occasion and contains articles on SDBurman, interviews of celebrities on their thoughts of him as a person and his music, photo features, trivia and anecdotes and documentation of his films and music. It will be circulated to connoisseurs of music all over the world.

It will be true archival and research material with entertainment as the theme.
It has been a pleasure to compile the journal and an honour to have been given this opportunity.
